6 Tips for Preparing for a Podcast Recording (as a host)

When you are interviewing a guest, here are some tips to prepare for your episodes from us at Studio Americana

1. Choose Your Guest:

   
   Make sure you choose wisely! Podcast guests should be good conversationalists, know how to talk in a way that is interesting, engaging, and not too long.

2. Choose Your Topic:

   Once you’ve decided on a guest, make sure you know what topics you want to cover!

3. Ask for the following

   
   -Name: Pronunciation and Spelling

   -Title: For Intro
   -Bio: For Show Notes

   -Social Media & Website Links: For Show Notes

   -Headshot: For any Social Media Promotions

4. Plan out your outline/questions:

   While many podcasts do it differently, having some general outline and questions help you know where to steer the conversation. You can also send some questions to your guests so they have time to think about the answers.

5. Make sure the guest knows where to go:

   
   Whether it’s a location or link, make sure they know how to get there or if it’s online, the link to click as well as having a quiet space, a microphone and headphones

6. Make sure the guest is comfortable:

   Providing water and snacks as well as a nice place to sit is very important to make your guest as comfortable as possible. At Studio Americana we take care of all of this.
